Run for Children!
“Treat every patient as if your own child”- Founder, Kenro Izu
Organization History
Friends Without A Border (Friends) is a not-for-profit organisation based in New York City and Japan. Started in 1996 by world renowned photographer Kenro Izu, Friends is committed to providing high-quality and compassionate healthcare to the children of Southeast Asia.
We believe every child has the right to a healthy and happy life.
Friends built and opened Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Since then, AHC has treated over 1.6 million children and trained thousands of healthcare professionals. In January of 2013, Friends and AHC celebrated a long-held goal as Izu presented the hospital to the AHC staff.
Lao Friends Hospital for Children
Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) opened in 2015 and provides free medical care to over 15,000 children each year. Patients and their families often travel long distances, up to 8 hours, to receive the medical care available at LFHC. Every child is treated with high-quality and compassionate medical care, following the motto of “treat every patient as if your own child.”
COCA COLA
A campaign I did in conjunction with Saatchi & Saatchi in Ho Chi Minh City. The campaign was well received, and the client was proud of the success it brought. The approach for us was to make the visuals look like they were part of everyday life, documentary style but well executed.
Eikoh Hosoe
Eikoh Hosoe (細江 英公, Hosoe Eikō, born 18 March 1933 in Yonezawa, Yamagata) is a Japanese photographer and filmmaker who emerged in the experimental arts movement of post-World War II Japan. Through his friendships and artistic collaborations he is linked with the writer Yukio Mishima and 1960s avant-garde artists such as the dancer Tatsumi Hijikata.
He has supported FWAB (Friends Without A Border) for many years. We maded this film to honour him and help promote the Friends Photo Auction.
